Amethyst is quartz coloured by iron, and its tone depends on how much of that iron was exposed to natural radiation in the ground. The best beads are cut from the clear, evenly coloured core of a geode; beads taken from the outer banding go pale and patchy, which is why two strands can look nothing alike at the same price.

Flat discs cut so the face of each bead is a full cross-section of the stone. It is the shape that shows the most material per bead and the least of the drill hole, and on a banded or figured stone it puts the pattern flat to the eye instead of wrapping it around a curve.

Deliberately built off-centre, with the visual weight placed to one side of the wrist rather than at the middle. It is a composition rather than a pattern, so each strand is laid out by eye and no two come out the same.

Sizing: the strand is strung on a doubled elastic core with a knotted finish, and it is made in three lengths — a snug 16 cm, the standard 18 cm, and a loose 20 cm. Beads are graded by hand before stringing, so the strand you receive is matched for size and tone from the first bead to the last. Every bracelet is strung to order in small numbers; if you would like the exact strand photographed before it ships, ask and we will send you the picture.

Care: Amethyst fades in prolonged direct sunlight. Store it out of a window and clean it with water and a soft cloth.

We dispatch within 48 hours of your order, from our warehouse in China, with tracking on every parcel.

We do not quote a delivery date. Once a parcel leaves us it is carried by an international courier and cleared by customs in your country, and a date we cannot control is a date we will not promise. The tracking number, which you get when the label is created, shows every scan to your door.

Shipping is complimentary on orders over CAD 79.00$; below that a flat CAD 9.50$ applies. HST (13%) is calculated at checkout. Duties and import taxes are the recipient's responsibility.

Unopened tins can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. If a tea is not to your taste, tell us — we would rather send you something you like than keep the money.
