Each piece is made by hand in small numbers, so we render it rather than photograph a duplicate. The image shows the form, the material, the finish and the proportion — it is not a photograph of the exact piece you will receive, and natural stone varies from one piece to the next. Write to us and we will photograph the actual piece in stock, with its weight and measurements, before you buy.
Burnished Copper Oval Bracelet
Double Wrap · Burnished Copper
The classic bead, slightly longer than round, so the strand follows the wrist. Copper is the warmest of the common metals and the only one that changes colour on the wearer rather than simply tarnishing: skin chemistry turns it slowly brown, then green.
Copper is the warmest of the common metals and the only one that changes colour on the wearer rather than simply tarnishing: skin chemistry turns it slowly brown, then green. The burnished finish here is a hand-worked surface that is matt rather than mirror-bright, so it holds a highlight instead of flashing.
The classic bead: an ellipse slightly longer than it is round, which lets a strand follow the wrist without gaps at the curve. It is the shape most bracelets are strung in, and the one every other shape here is a deliberate departure from.
Cut almost twice the length of a single bracelet and strung at a slight spiral, so it wraps the wrist twice and closes without a clasp. There is no clasp to fail and no fixed size to get wrong, which is why it is the most practical strand on this page.
Sizing: the strand is strung on a doubled elastic core with a knotted finish, and it is made in three lengths — a snug 16 cm, the standard 18 cm, and a loose 20 cm. Beads are graded by hand before stringing, so the strand you receive is matched for size and tone from the first bead to the last. Every bracelet is strung to order in small numbers; if you would like the exact strand photographed before it ships, ask and we will send you the picture.
Care: It will darken. That is the metal, not a fault. A little lemon juice restores the brightness if you want it back.
