Each piece is made by hand in small numbers, so we render it rather than photograph a duplicate. The image shows the form, the material, the finish and the proportion — it is not a photograph of the exact piece you will receive, and natural stone varies from one piece to the next. Write to us and we will photograph the actual piece in stock, with its weight and measurements, before you buy.
Red Sandalwood Carved Blossom Bracelet
Two Material · Red Sandalwood
A flower carved bead by bead and petal by petal: the most work here, and the least forgiving. Red sandalwood is one of the densest woods traded, and the heartwood is a deep oxblood red that fades towards brown only after years of light.
Red sandalwood is one of the densest woods traded, and the heartwood is a deep oxblood red that fades towards brown only after years of light. It has no scent to speak of, unlike the sandalwood used for incense; what it has is weight and colour, and it holds both.
A carved flower cut into the face of every bead, petal by petal, on a wheel. It is the most work of any shape on this page and the least forgiving: a slip on the fifth petal means the bead is scrap, not a second-quality one.
The main material is broken at regular intervals by a second one, usually a metal or a darker stone, so the strand reads as a fine band with a repeating mark on it. Matching the two materials by eye at every junction is the work.
Sizing: the strand is strung on a doubled elastic core with a knotted finish, and it is made in three lengths — a snug 16 cm, the standard 18 cm, and a loose 20 cm. Beads are graded by hand before stringing, so the strand you receive is matched for size and tone from the first bead to the last. Every bracelet is strung to order in small numbers; if you would like the exact strand photographed before it ships, ask and we will send you the picture.
Care: Wipe rather than wash. Oil once a year if it looks dry; nothing more is needed.

We dispatch within 48 hours of your order, from our warehouse in China, with tracking on every parcel.
We do not quote a delivery date. Once a parcel leaves us it is carried by an international courier and cleared by customs in your country, and a date we cannot control is a date we will not promise. The tracking number, which you get when the label is created, shows every scan to your door.
Shipping is complimentary on orders over CAD 79.00$; below that a flat CAD 9.50$ applies. HST (13%) is calculated at checkout. Duties and import taxes are the recipient's responsibility.
