Tie Luo Han, the Iron Arhat, is the darkest and fruitiest of the Four Famous Bushes — stewed plum, dark chocolate and a roasted note that sits well behind the fruit rather than over it. It takes a heavier roast than Rou Gui without turning bitter, which is why it is the bush most often aged.

Da Hong Pao itself comes from Wuyi Mountains, Fujian, grown as blend of qi dan and bei dou, at 450 m. This lot is that same tea, handled and graded as described above — the leaf, the mountain and the maker do not change, only the picking window and the price.
