Aged Shou Tuo 2008
Bird’s nest tuo cha · 16 years old
Sixteen years of dry Kunming storage turned this tuo into something closer to old books and Chinese medicine than tea.
A tuo cha is the little bowl-shaped brick that pu-erh was traditionally traded in. This one was pile-fermented in Menghai in 2008 and has since sat in dry Kunming storage — cool, stable, no warehouse mustiness — for well over a decade.
Age has done what nothing else can. The cup is thick and dark, tasting of old books, ginseng, sandalwood and dried citrus peel, with a sweetness that arrives long after you swallow and an almost medicinal warmth that spreads through the chest. This is the tea to drink when you want to be quiet.

We dispatch within 48 hours of your order, from our warehouse in China, with tracking on every parcel.
We do not quote a delivery date. Once a parcel leaves us it is carried by an international courier and cleared by customs in your country, and a date we cannot control is a date we will not promise. The tracking number, which you get when the label is created, shows every scan to your door.
Shipping is complimentary on orders over CAD 79.00$; below that a flat CAD 9.50$ applies. HST (13%) is calculated at checkout. Duties and import taxes are the recipient's responsibility.
Unopened tins can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. If a tea is not to your taste, tell us — we would rather send you something you like than keep the money.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club and China UnionPay through our payment provider's local card gateway, protected by 3-D Secure 2 authentication. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment in your banking app or with a one-time code.
Card details are entered on our checkout and transmitted directly to the payment provider over TLS. They are never written to our database — we only keep the card brand and the last four digits so you can recognise the charge on your statement. All prices are in CAD.
