Lapsang Souchong
Smoked over pine · Tongmu village
The original smoked black tea, from the village where black tea was invented — pine smoke, longan and dark caramel.
Black tea was invented here, in Tongmu, in the 16th century, and Lapsang Souchong is still made the old way: the leaf is withered and dried over smouldering pine wood in a two-storey smoke house, taking on resins that no flavouring can imitate.
Good Lapsang is not an ash tray. Ours is sweet and round — pine resin, dried longan, dark caramel and a tarry edge — with none of the acrid harshness of cheaper versions. Excellent with a splash of milk in the morning, and a revelation in a whisky sour.

We dispatch within 48 hours of your order, from our warehouse in China, with tracking on every parcel.
We do not quote a delivery date. Once a parcel leaves us it is carried by an international courier and cleared by customs in your country, and a date we cannot control is a date we will not promise. The tracking number, which you get when the label is created, shows every scan to your door.
Shipping is complimentary on orders over CAD 79.00$; below that a flat CAD 9.50$ applies. HST (13%) is calculated at checkout. Duties and import taxes are the recipient's responsibility.
Unopened tins can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. If a tea is not to your taste, tell us — we would rather send you something you like than keep the money.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club and China UnionPay through our payment provider's local card gateway, protected by 3-D Secure 2 authentication. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment in your banking app or with a one-time code.
Card details are entered on our checkout and transmitted directly to the payment provider over TLS. They are never written to our database — we only keep the card brand and the last four digits so you can recognise the charge on your statement. All prices are in CAD.
